Procurement undeniably plays a critical role in the successful operations of business units but is still too often characterized as simply the compliance or lowest price enforcement department, rather than as value added strategic partners.  If you are interested in transforming the perception of your procurement role from that of an enforcer to a trusted advisor this workshop will interest you.

A one-day course, it will introduce the fundamental principles of “design thinking”: one of today’s current business strategies and the foundation of a client-centric approach to procurement.  Drawing on such diverse fields as design, anthropology, and business, design thinking has emerged as a leading discipline in every sector that values internal and external customer relationships.

This seminar will provide insights and practical tips based on experience as well as the introduction of key tools to facilitate application of learnings within your own department and organization.

Instructor: Eddy Jin

Eddy Jin is a principal consultant in his firm, EJ & Associates and the former Director of Procurement at the University of Toronto. In his over 20 years of experience in the profession, he has introduced many award winning innovations that have transformed the procurement function in Canada. He continues to advise both public and private organizations on both strategic and tactical procurement solutions and application of innovative approaches to meet their needs. More recently, Eddy has been collaborating with procurement experts internationally to bring their best practices into use in Canada. Eddy is a graduate of the University of Toronto.

Seminar Cancellation/Refund Policy: A full refund will be issued on cancellations received in writing at least 10 business days prior to the seminar/course start date. An administration fee of $150.00 is applicable if notification is received between three and nine days prior to start date. Thereafter no refund will be available. Substitutions and transfer of registrations is permissible when received in writing three business days before the seminar/course start date. Please note that credits to be used for future offerings are valid for 12 months from the date of initial payment and will expire if not used in that time frame.
