While contracts are legal documents, contract administration is also about relationships. Participants will learn the basics of effective contract management from both perspectives. Contract basics such as types of contracts, characteristics of good contracts and the contract management lifecycle are topics covered. Participants will gain a familiarity with managing service level agreements and mitigating risk. The importance of relationship management and key factors for success are discussed. Communications, trust and dispute resolution are among the issues participants will explore.

OBJECTIVES:

  • Understand the basics of procurement contracts;
  • Interpret and negotiate procurement contracts more effectively;
  • Spot issues that might threaten the validity of a contract or increase risk;
  • Better assess internal rules and policies regarding contracting;
  • Better liaise with internal or external procurement counsel


Instructor: Sandy Chalkoun

Sandy Chalkoun, the founder of Altura Legal Strategies Inc., is dedicated to providing expert legal training to corporate professionals. Her seminars are designed to provide attendees with legal strategies for integrating the law with day to day business activities. Ms. Chalkoun completed a Bachelor of Arts from Concordia University, a Bachelor of Civil Law and a Bachelor in Common Law from McGill University, and is a member in good standing of the Quebec Bar. She served as legal counsel for several multinational corporations before starting her own corporate training company. Members $875.00 + HST (13%) = $988.75

Non-members $1075.00 + HST (13%) = $1214.75

 

Seminar Cancellation/Refund Policy: A full refund will be issued on cancellations received in writing at least 10 business days prior to the seminar/course start date. An administration fee of $150.00 is applicable if notification is received between three and nine days prior to start date. Thereafter no refund will be available. Substitutions and transfer of registrations is permissible when received in writing three business days before the seminar/course start date. Please note that credits to be used for future offerings are valid for 12 months from the date of initial payment and will expire if not used in that time frame.
