The ability to make a decision is one of the most sought-after management skills that organizations are looking for. Often people hesitate to move forward with a course of action based on the inability to make a decision.  By understanding the different types of decisions that are out there and having some decision making tools at your fingertips, you are able to move forward at a faster rate and make your company more competitive. 

This webinar will highlight the decision making process, the 4 different types of decisions and how to approach them, and a handful of  tools to help make a decision.  Throughout there will be examples to demonstrate how each tool works and to illustrate the different types of problems.

About the Facilitator

Carla Langhorst has taught at SCMAO for 7 years including Finance, Marketing, Communications, and Transportation & Logistics. Her varied background and education has allowed her to engage in many different sectors in various capacities.  But she fundamentally believes that any great business needs to start by focusing on their supply chain and quality delivery in order for the rest of the functional areas to fall into place.

She currently runs her own consulting firm where she has launched a North American wide elearning that has supported over 120,000 small businesses, she has helped create a central procurement program for 4 nationwide faith organizations which has saved them millions of dollars, and she has most recently launched the Social Innovation Challenge which fosters social entrepreneurship across Canada.  Over the past decade Carla has worked in a consulting capacity for IT companies, healthcare, transportation, professional services, and non-profit.

Previous to consulting work she worked in sales, marketing, operations and IT roles at Canadian Pacific Railway and was the Regional Sales Manager at Wheels Group.

Her educational background includes an MBA at University of British Columbia with a specialization in Supply Chain Management and Organizational Behaviour and an exchange to CEIBS University in Shanghai China.  While her undergrad was an HBBA at Wilfrid Laurier University with a specialization in Marketing and Strategy with an exchange to Canberra University in Canberra, Australia.
